History Of Valentine's Day

Valentine’s  Day  known  as  Saint  Valentine’s Day  and  this  is  the  saint  valentine  feast  which  is  celebrated  all  over  the  world  on  14^th  February  every  year.  It is celebrated  in  different   countries  and  this  day  is  considered  as  working  day.  The  saint  valentine’s  day  is  celebrated  in  the  memory  of  Christian  saint  Known  as  Valentinus.  We  can  see  that  many  stories  has  been  on  the  valentine’s  day  and  later  more  stories  were  added  to  it.  One  of  story  of  saint  valentine  which  we  remember  is  that  saint  valentine  was  punished  and  was  jailed  for  performing  weddings  for  soldiers  for  marrying  Christians.  When  he  was  jailed,  he  healed  the  feelings  of  jail  daughter  named  Asterius.  Before  his  execution,  he  write  a  letter  which  is  named  as  Your  Valentine  a  farewell.

  At  present  now  we  are  celebrating Valentine’s  Day  as  a  feast  day  in  Anglican  Communion.  The  orthodox  church  in  eastern  side  also  celebrates  valentine’s  day  on  July  6^th  and   30^th.  In  the  eastern  side  it  was  remembered  under  the  Roman  Saint  Valentine  and  then  under  the  name  of  Hieromartyr  Valentine. 

Historical  Relations

Many  of  the  early  Martyrs  of  the  Christian  were  named  as  Valentine  and  it  is  remembered  on  14^th  February  as  Valentine  of  Rome.  The  valentine  of  Rome  is  a  priest  who  died  in  496 AD  and  his  body  was  buried  at  Via  Flaminia.  The  remaining  parts  of  his  body  was  kept  in  Church  was  named  as  the  San  Valentino  Catacombs.  This  was  an  important  pilgrim  in  the middle  ages  and  later  the  parts  of  Saint  Valentine  were  shifted  to  Santa  Prassede  church and  it  was  under  the  ruler  of  Nicholas  four.  The  skull  of  saint  valentine  which  is  crowned  like  flower  is  placed  in  Santa  Maria  Basilica  in  Cosmedin,  Rome.  Some  of  the  other  parts  were  found  at  Street  at  Whitefriar  Carmelite  church  which is  at  Ireland. 

14^th  February  is  celebrated  as  Saint  Valentine’s  Day  in  different  Christian  cultures.  The  saint  valentine  feast  day  is  shown  in  saints  calendar  and  also  in  church  Lutheran.  In  1969 the  Roman  calendar  was  revised  and  saint  valentine’s  feast  day  was  removed  from  the  General  calendar  of  Roman.  The  main  reason  was  the  saint  valentine’s  day  memorial  was  ancient.  In  different  calendar  it  is  shown  as  different  names.  The  feast  day  is  celebrated,  where  the  parts  were  found  and  it  is  celebrated  by  catholic which  are  traditional. 

Saint  Valentine  a  Legend

According  to  J.C cooper,  he writes  about  saint  valentine  as  Christianity  dictionary  who  was  priest  in  Rome  and  he  was  jailed  for  performing  marriages  for  Christians.  In  the  early  fourth  century  the  records  of  saint  valentine  was  destroyed  at  time  of  persecution  of  Diocletianic.  Saint  valentine  was  executed  as  Christian  and  he  was  imprisoned  under  the  Ruler  Emperor  Claudius  two.  The  Ruler  was  very  fond  of  saint  valentine  and  he  made  a  discussion  for  getting  converted  to  Roman  paganism  for  saving  his  life.  Instead  valentine  made  Claudius  two  for  getting  converted  and  he  was  executed.

Happy Republic Day 2014 Celebrations

Republic  Day  is  a  majestic  parade  which  makes  us  proud  to  be  an  Indian.  On  this  day  the  true spirit  will  be  there  in  our  hearts  and  the  patriotism  feeling  will  be  there  in  hearts  of  all  Indians  across  the  country.  Every  year  a  number  of  check  posts  has  been  started  and  in  Delhi,  the  major preparations  has  been  done.  Number  of  routes  will be  closed  for  tight  security.  Before  the  parade  happens,  each  day  people  are  making  effort  to  make  this  Republic  Day  a good  one.  The  venue  of  hosting  this  Republic  Day  is  vivified  with  tri  color  flags.  The  sound  of  helicopters  and  air  jets  tend  to  begin,  as  the  Air  force  prepares  for  their  shows. 

    The  patriotic  feeling  of  Indian  people  can be  seen  in  huge  crowd  at India Gate  for  paying  tribute  to  martyrs  of  Independence  struggle.  The  preparations  for  the  parade  begins  months  before  the  actual  day.  The  event  begins  as  Prime  Minister  lays  wreath  at  Amar  Jyothi  at  India  Gate.  Foreign  head  will  be  welcomed  as  chief guest.  The  grand  parade  of  Indian  Army,  Navy  and  Air  force  will  begin  and next  it  will  the  award  ceremony  which  is  given  to  honor  the  brave  hearts. 

Republic  Day  Parade 

The  Republic  Day  parade  begins at  9.30  am  which  is  followed  by  the  flag  hosting  ceremony  on  26^th  January.  The  parade  will  run  for  three  hours  and  a full  dress  rehearsal  will  be  held  few  days  back  before  the  actual  event.   The  Republic  Day  Parade  starts  at  Rajpath, Delhi  which  is  five  kilometers  long  which  is  from  Raisina  hill  near  Rashtrapathi  Bhavan  and  it  follows  to Rajpath  at  India  Gate  and  to  Red  fort.  Republic  day  parade  starts  when  President  arrives  with  escorted  by  body  guards  on  horses.  Prime  Minister  of  India  will  lays  wreath  at  Amar  jyoti  at  India  Gate  to  pay  tribute  to  brave  hearts  who  sacrificed  for  our  country.  President  then  raises  National  flag  as  National  Anthem  is played  and  21  gun salute  will  be  given. 

  Parade  is  led  by  three  divisions  of  armed  forces  like  Army,  Navy  and  Air force,  where  they  displays  their  strength.  A  dramatic  air  show  will  be  shown  and  it  will be  parade  grand  finale.  Each  Indian  state  will  be in  different  float  for  representing  the  culture.  

How  to  buy  tickets  for  Republic  Day?

We  can  get  tickets  in  different  ways  for  the  parade.  The  front  row  passes  can  be  collected  from  the  VIP’S  in  Delhi.  Tickets  for  Republic  Day  Parade  are   on  sale  from  January  10th  to  January  25th.  From  the  India  tourism  development  corporation  or  at  the  travel  counters  at  Ashok  and  Janpath  Hotels.  The  tickets  are  available  only  on  working  days.  From  the  Delhi  tourism  development  corporation  and  counters  at  coffee  home,  Baba  Kharag  Singh  Marg and  food,  Craft  Bazar,  Dilli  Hat,  which  is  opposite  to  INA Market  and  Shri  Gandhi  Ashram,  Chandni  chowk.  Tickets  are  available  at  these  centers  and  it  is  available  only  at  working  days.
