Republic  Day  is  a  majestic  parade  which  makes  us  proud  to  be  an  Indian.  On  this  day  the  true spirit  will  be  there  in  our  hearts  and  the  patriotism  feeling  will  be  there  in  hearts  of  all  Indians  across  the  country.  Every  year  a  number  of  check  posts  has  been  started  and  in  Delhi,  the  major preparations  has  been  done.  Number  of  routes  will be  closed  for  tight  security.  Before  the  parade  happens,  each  day  people  are  making  effort  to  make  this  Republic  Day  a good  one.  The  venue  of  hosting  this  Republic  Day  is  vivified  with  tri  color  flags.  The  sound  of  helicopters  and  air  jets  tend  to  begin,  as  the  Air  force  prepares  for  their  shows. 

    The  patriotic  feeling  of  Indian  people  can be  seen  in  huge  crowd  at India Gate  for  paying  tribute  to  martyrs  of  Independence  struggle.  The  preparations  for  the  parade  begins  months  before  the  actual  day.  The  event  begins  as  Prime  Minister  lays  wreath  at  Amar  Jyothi  at  India  Gate.  Foreign  head  will  be  welcomed  as  chief guest.  The  grand  parade  of  Indian  Army,  Navy  and  Air  force  will  begin  and next  it  will  the  award  ceremony  which  is  given  to  honor  the  brave  hearts. 

Republic  Day  Parade 

The  Republic  Day  parade  begins at  9.30  am  which  is  followed  by  the  flag  hosting  ceremony  on  26^th  January.  The  parade  will  run  for  three  hours  and  a full  dress  rehearsal  will  be  held  few  days  back  before  the  actual  event.   The  Republic  Day  Parade  starts  at  Rajpath, Delhi  which  is  five  kilometers  long  which  is  from  Raisina  hill  near  Rashtrapathi  Bhavan  and  it  follows  to Rajpath  at  India  Gate  and  to  Red  fort.  Republic  day  parade  starts  when  President  arrives  with  escorted  by  body  guards  on  horses.  Prime  Minister  of  India  will  lays  wreath  at  Amar  jyoti  at  India  Gate  to  pay  tribute  to  brave  hearts  who  sacrificed  for  our  country.  President  then  raises  National  flag  as  National  Anthem  is played  and  21  gun salute  will  be  given. 

  Parade  is  led  by  three  divisions  of  armed  forces  like  Army,  Navy  and  Air force,  where  they  displays  their  strength.  A  dramatic  air  show  will  be  shown  and  it  will be  parade  grand  finale.  Each  Indian  state  will  be in  different  float  for  representing  the  culture.  

How  to  buy  tickets  for  Republic  Day?

We  can  get  tickets  in  different  ways  for  the  parade.  The  front  row  passes  can  be  collected  from  the  VIP’S  in  Delhi.  Tickets  for  Republic  Day  Parade  are   on  sale  from  January  10th  to  January  25th.  From  the  India  tourism  development  corporation  or  at  the  travel  counters  at  Ashok  and  Janpath  Hotels.  The  tickets  are  available  only  on  working  days.  From  the  Delhi  tourism  development  corporation  and  counters  at  coffee  home,  Baba  Kharag  Singh  Marg and  food,  Craft  Bazar,  Dilli  Hat,  which  is  opposite  to  INA Market  and  Shri  Gandhi  Ashram,  Chandni  chowk.  Tickets  are  available  at  these  centers  and  it  is  available  only  at  working  days.

  

All About Republic Day- 26th January

Republic  Day  in  India  came  to  live  on  26^th  January  1950  where  our  first  constitution  of  India  came  which  replaced  Government  of  India  Act.  On  26^th  November  1949,  the  constitution  was  passed  by  constituent  Assembly  and  later  it  came  into  force  on  26^th  January  1950  with  a  government  having  democratic  approach.  26^th  January  is  added  as   country’s  transformation  in  changing  to  an  Independent  country.  In  1930,  the  Purna  Swaraj  was  declared  by  Indian  National  Congress.  The  Republic  day  is  the  national  holiday  for  the  country. 

History of  becoming  Republic

India  got  Independence  from  British  on  15^th  August  1947,  where  India  fought  for Indian  Independence  movement  which  is  most  peaceful  civil  disobedience  followed  by  Indian  National  congress  party.  India  got  Independence  from  the  Indian  Independence  Act  of  1947  and  it  was  developed  by  the  united  kingdom  parliament,  who  partitioned  British  India  into  two  countries  like  India  and  Pakistan.  India  got  Independence  on  August  15^th  1947,  with  George  VI  as  state  head  and  Earl  Mountbatten  as  governor  general.  On 28^th  August  1947,  drafting  committee  needs  to  draft  a  permanent  constitution  and  Dr  B.R  Ambedkar  was  the  chairman.  A  constitution  draft  was  prepared  by  the committee  and  it  was  submitted  to  the  assembly  on  November  4  1947.  The  308 members  of  the  Assembly  signed  hand  written  copies  of  document  on  24^th  January  1950.  After  two  days  the  constitution  came  into  force. 

Meaning  of  Republic  Day:

Republic  Day  is  maintained  as  India’s  adoption  of  constitution  on  26^th  January  1950,  where  we  got  Independence  from  the  British  rule.  This  was  remarkable  land  stone,  which  none  of  the  Indians  forget.  Republic  Day  is  one  of  the  public  holidays  we  tend  to  celebrate.  Other  holidays  we  celebrate  are  Independence  day  on  August  15^th  and  Birthday  of  Mahatma  Gandhi  on  October 2nd. 

How  Republic  Day  is  celebrated?

In  Delhi, festivities  happens  at  capital.  The  main  highlight  of  this  Republic  day  is  the  parade  from  the  Army,  Navy  and  Air force  and  we  can  see  their  displays.  Parade  includes  colorful  things  from  different  states  of  India.  In  each  state  a  parade  is  hosted.  On  this  day,  the  alcohol  will  not  be  available  and  the  shops  will  be  closed. 

On  this  day  most  of  them   organize  events  and  celebrations  for  remembering  Republic  Day. In  New  Delhi  large  military  parades  will  be  hosted  and  each  in  each  state  also  a  parade  will  be  held.  The  representatives  of  the  Army,  Navy  and  Air  Force  will  have  traditional  dance  troupes  which  take part  in  parades.  In  New  Delhi,  a  grand  parade  will  be held  and  event  start’s  with  India’s  prime  Minister  laying  a  wreath  at  Amar  Jawan  Jyoti  which  is  at  India  Gate  for  remembering  soldiers  who  fought  for  our  country.  The  Indian  president  will  takes  Military  salute  during  parade  in  New  Delhi.  Each  governor  of  the  state  will  take  military  salutes  from  each  state  head.  A  foreign  head  will  be president’s  chief  guest.  Awards  and  medals will  be  given  to people  who  are  bravery  and  it  is  given  to  armed  forces  and  to  civilians.  The  armed  forces  helicopters  will  then  shower  rose  petals  on  audience  and  the  school  children  will  take  part  participation  in  parade  by  dancing and  singing  patriotic  songs.  The  stunts  of  motorcycle  rides  of  Armed  forces  will  be  shown  and  the  parade  concludes  with  fly  past  from  Indian  Air  force.  Many  national  and  cultural  programs  will  be  held  for  maintain  the  culture  of  India..  Children  takes  part  in  these  programs.
